What is Chinese Bloodletting?

Chinese Bloodletting, also known as Therapeutic Bloodletting, is a traditional healing technique within Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It involves the controlled removal of a tiny amount of blood (normally only a few droplets) from specific points on the body to release stagnation, reduce excess heat, and promote the smooth flow of qi (energy) and blood.

This therapy is particularly effective for addressing conditions associated with stagnation or an imbalance of blood and energy, such as:

  • Chronic pain and inflammation.
  • Headaches and migraines.
  • High blood pressure.
  • Skin conditions such as eczema or acne.
  • Detoxification and heat-related symptoms.

During the procedure, a practitioner may use sterile lancets or similar tools to gently prick the skin at targeted areas, often at acupuncture points or areas where stagnation is detected. The treatment is safe and performed under hygienic conditions to ensure client comfort and well-being.

Chinese Bloodletting is valued for its ability to relieve pressure, detoxify the body, and restore balance. It is often combined with other therapies, such as acupuncture or moxibustion, to enhance its effectiveness. This technique provides a unique and powerful way to address deeply rooted imbalances and support holistic health.
